March 9-10 in Matlacha/Pine Island area, just off the coast of Ft. Myers where it gets really pretty!
An afternoon of learning about inshore fishing and practicing skills one on one!
This mini event has a different schedule than the full weekend universities and thus the lower registration rate!
Event is approx. 12:30-5 pm Saturday followed by an exciting silent auction, raffle and happy hour at Barnhill’s Seafood Spot!
If you have anything you would like to place in the auction/raffle or goody bags please email us asap. The Silent Auction is amazing, get ready for trips to the Bahamas, fishing trips, tackle, art prints and more!
You don’t have to get up early on Saturday, just come after lunch, it starts at 12:30 pm. It’s all about learning to fish.
Speakers on Inshore and brief intro to kayak fishing.
Learn about conservation, fish habits and how to dehook fish without touching them!
Learn equipment and tackle to use. Where and when to find fish, then what to do.
No experience necessary and we bring all the tackle to show you.

Sunday March 10 Optional Half Day Fishing:
The second day of the University is optional fishing. There are no scheduled classes so you can learn on the water. You need to reserve your fishing the same time you register.
From boats or guided Kayak fishing! Approx. 8 am to noon. All fishing will be near shore, near mangroves and beaches!
Fish for redfish, snook, trout, tarpon, snapper, grouper, flounder and who knows what else! Rod, reel, lures and bait if the captain opts for it, provided by the charter guide. Fishing license may be provided for some of the boats but some may require fishing license. Fishing license required for kayak fishing.
Fishing Choices:
$165 Bay Flats boat, 2-4 per boat but mostly 2 Fishing equipment included. In most cases the fishing license is included.
$89 Guided Kayak fishing including kayak and fishing equipment. 4-5 ladies per group with a guide. You will need to get a fishing license.
SOLD OUT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: $78.00 Deck boat fishing! You will need a fishing license. There is only one boat at this rate! (bear in mind our registration has not auto-limit so if you sign up for this and it’s already full we will notify you of other options.
SOLD OUT $65 Pontoon/deck boat. Sorry, this option is FILLED! Boat takes 6, Fishing equipment included. Please note all boats are different, some deck boats, some pontoon at this rate. Fishing license may be required.
15-20% gratuity additional.
Note: Fishing rates are based on full boats. If there is not enough to fill your choice we will notify you. We recommend as it gets close to the event to put a second choice in the SPECIAL NOTES section if you are flexible. Do not put the Pontoon/Deck boat as second choice as all pontoon/deck boats are filled to capacity.
