Nearly 7 hours of personalized fishing instruction with speakers and great guides, plus a welcome party and cool fundraiser – at the lowest rate ever!

GOOD NEWS! We are starting at 10 am on Saturday morning to give more time at the hands-on skill stations at no extra cost! The ladies have voted the would rather have a brown bag lunch (bring your own sandwich and drink) to have more time with the instructors.

Social Angler (for those who have been to LLGF before) – $35.  Does not include the educational day and hands-on skill practice. To get one -on-one time with these captains during the skill practice would normally cost hundreds of $. For that you need to sign up with the full registration. This option is for those who just want to attend the Welcome Social on Friday and fish with us on Sunday.

Saturday:  3.5 hours instruction, 2 hours hands-on skill practice!

9:00-10:00 check-in, auction preview time

First session choose from Room A/Fishing Basics or Room B/Inshore fishing

How to: choose and use various rods and reels, slow the fish using drag system, choose tackle

How to fish in shallow water or near beaches

11:00-12:15 Brown Bag Lunch (bring your own sandwich and drink) Reeling against a human fish and conservation/dehooking, demonstrated by Betty Bauman. Announcements and details for Sunday Fishing with tips on charter fishing protocol. Learn what to wear for fishing with fashions from Aftco/Guy Harvey and Hook & Tackle!

12:15-1:30: All: Deepwater and Bottom Fishing – Capt. Mike Genoun, Florida Sport Fishing Magazine

How to catch or release mahi mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, snapper and other offshore species! Door prizes!

1:30-1:45 Break: class photo

1:45-4:30 pm – Exhibits/Skill Stations

1:45-3:00 Indoor skills such as knot tying, ballyhoo rigging, lure usage, dehooking/releasing, rod/reel repair and maintenance. Boat handling and trailer backing available outside at this time as well. Boat handling determined by weather.

3:00-4:30 Outdoor skills such as spin casting, net casting, fly casting, boat handling, trailer backing, gaffing grapefruits

Talk with and learn from your instructors one-on-one!

4:30-5pm (approx.): Auction, raffle and final announcements. Possible networking after at Islamorada Fish Co. near Bass Pro Shops

Sunday Optional Fishing: Sunday, May 1 “Yahoo Let’s Go!” Fishing Adventure (no class instruction on Sunday)

8 am – NOON – Fishing Headquarters Offshore sportfishing boats

8:30 am – 12:30 – Party Boat “Catch My Drift” just south of A1A and Las Olas Blvd., Intracoastal sideFish filleting demonstration upon boat arrivals.

Fishing Adventure, optional and additional. Followed by fish fillet demonstration. Note: there may be a couple male guests on a few boats.

Fishing Rates (Optional/additional, Rates are per person. Coming alone? Don’t worry, no need to fill the boat, we do it for you!):

$55 Fishing from Party Boat (8:30am-12:30 pm, $5 gratuity not incl.) Bottom fish for grouper and snapper, perhaps mackerel! Includes use of rod/reel.

$145 Offshore Sportfishing Boat (1/2 day approx. 8 am – noon), gratuity not incl., 6 persons/per boat) Fish for sailfish, kingfish, wahoo, dolphin and more! In a half day you can get right out into the Gulf  Stream and return with fish!

Overnight Accommodations – Book your rooms early as there are times when hotels in this area can be sold out.
