ELFIN COVE, ALASKA 8/04 - - A myriad of exciting Alaska sealife made for exciting fishing and viewing at this year's "Ladies, Let's Go Fishing!"® (LLGF) event at the Cove Lodge in Elfin Cove, Alaska. A group of eight traveled from Florida to attend the event, which offered educational fishing experiences from July 31 to August 4, 2004.

Commented Lodge Owner, Gordy Wrobel, "The number and variety of fish taken by the ladies was truly remarkable. The group caught king, silver, chum and pink salmon, halibut, ling cod, yellow eye rock fish, quilback rock fish, china rock fish, tiger rock fish, black rock fish, spiny dog sharks, skates, wolf eel, sea cucumbers, basket starfish and even the lowly sculpin. Each participant left with all the fish they desired, yet released a huge amount to promote conservation!"

Major species caught and/or released by the Florida ladies amounted to 82 king salmon, 67 silver salmon, 92 pink salmon, and 64 halibut. The group enjoyed freshwater fishing for salmon and dolly varden, of which 34 dolly varden and 23 salmon were released. Literally thousands of fish awaited every cast.

Whale viewing during the trip was spectacular. Both humpback and orca whales delighted the group. The stellar sea lions were also on hand to entertain along with sea otters, puffins, bald eagles and even a brown bear and her two cubs. Wrobel continued, "This was a week enjoyed as much by our crew as by our guests. New friends were made and great memories created."

"Ladies, Let's Go Fishing!" also holds weekend educational seminars for women in the Florida locations of Ft. Lauderdale, Sarasota, Stuart and Islamorada, as well as a freshwater fly fishing seminar in Denver, CO. Special events are offered in Alaska, Costa Rica and Key Largo's Ocean Reef Club. "Ladies, Let's Go Fishing!" also offers a national association, with annual memberships and local chapters.
