Islamorada Event Oct. 14-16, 2005 - Awesome!

We were pleased to have a great crowd and fabulous fishing at our Islamorada seminar!

"Ladies, Let's Go Fishing!"® Fishing Report, Islamorada, FL Oct. 16, 05 Tournament Winners: Top Offshore Boat: Blue Chip Too, Anglers Elana Dyer, Vero Beach, FL; Andi Fleri, Homestead, FL; Sandy Hoesktra, Pembroke Pines, FL; Shelly Matzick, Cape Coral, FL; Bonnie O'hara, Tulsa, OK and Ginnie Thomas, Rockaway, NJ Top Inshore Boat: Laid Back, Anglers Julie Abreu, Miami, FL and Lisa Sever, Denver, CO Top Tarpon Release, Julie Abreu, Miami, FL Top Party Boat Angler: Jackie Lorne, Delray Beach, FL Boat Reports:
Although the seas were fairly sloppy and the ladies were doused with rain showers, every boat caught fish and there was a lot of bragging at the dock!

Blue Chip Too: Everyone had fun catching fish with Capt. Skip Bradeen. The catch totaled 6 mackerel, 2 mutton snapper and 3 bonita. Andi Fleri, Homestead, FL, caught a 15.5 lb king mackerel that clinched the First Place Offshore award for the boat.

Miller Time: This boat had five medical professionals from Missouri who were fishing for the first time, as well as one experienced lady from Ft.
Lauderdale. They caught 10 mutton and yellowtail snapper, 5 sharks, 12 jacks, ballyhoo and blue runners and reported a lot of screaming for joy from the first-time saltwater anglers.

Old Hatt: Fishing with Capt. Ed Kimmon, the ladies caught 16 blackfin tuna,
4 yellowtail snapper, 2 dolphin, a jack crevalle, 2 cero mackerel and a wahoo. The ladies had a chance to tie knots, rig baits and work the outriggers.
Caribsea: There was quite a mix of fish caught, including tuna, yellowtail snapper, houndfish and jack crevalle. The highlight was a 30 lb. amberjack brought in by Mary Hall, Boynton Beach, FL .

Miss Tradewinds: Grunts were the dish of the day. Jackie Lorne, Delray Beach, FL, took the Top Party Boat Division Award with her snapper.

Beaver: The day was highlighted by a 25 lb. black grouper caught by Kelly Chrisler, Weston, FL, and a first-ever sailfish release by Christina Stylianos, Dania Beach, FL.

Catch Allota Fish: All the ladies aboard caught Spanish mackerel, ladyfish, jack crevalle and snapper, some of which they caught without bait. They learned how to prepare rigs for mackerel and how to detangle line.
Capt. Eric Bass: Both ladies caught two snapper each.

Laid Back: Fishing with Capt. Brian Cutchins, Lisa Sever, Denver, CO, caught two snapper and Julie Abreu, Miami, FL, released her first tarpon, clinching First Place Inshore Division and Top Tarpon Release.

* Bar Fly: Capt. Brey Abreau received rave reviews from his anglers, who caught 4 sharks and a jack crevalle. They also spotted 2 bonefish.
Capt. Bob Jones: The ladies released 8 bonnethead sharks, a nurse shark and a mangrove snapper.
For the purposes of this report, “Caught” could either mean fish kept or released.
